Ive always installed the windows 7 drivers and even vista drivers as a test because the dongles do not autoinstall.
My experience was that if i installed any manufacturer driver and it didnt work that i would have to reinstall my OS anyway. Even if you delete the old drivers.

ONLY the microsoft driver i got eyb-362 windows update worked perfectly on a clean installed Windows 7 machine. Hope this post might help someone.
